Hi everyone , Hairy Hills is now closed for winter 2023. We have tree felling and lambing in spring which means the track will be closed until further notice. Thank you for your support and we will see you again in a few months! Updated 3/05/2023

Hi everyone , Hairy Hill’s is now open again. please note there’s young lambs with ewes around the track , so please take a couple of slow laps first up to ensure all sheep move away with the lambs slowly.

Please keep to the MX track only,

so the lambs don’t get miss mothered please.

This will be strictly monitored, and if not followed we will have to close the track again. Update sent 18/09/2021

Hey all you MX nutters...

 we’ve just groomed the track last night

With the rotor spike,

after 60 mls of rain received on Saturday and Sunday.

And it’s come up primo !

Hairy Hills has just bought new equipment that has been on the wish list for 10 years now!

 

We have invested hugely in a rotor spike for maintaining the track, it will help bury any stones leaving a nicely groomed track to ride on and it also allows us to groom the track in a lot more conditions.

 

Feel free to post any feedback on our website and our Facebook page as well as any pictures and videos of you taking it by the balls at Hairy Hills!

Located down Western Lake Road and East-West Access Road junction, 25 minutes from Featherston

 

$25 per rider, per day

$15 per junior under 13 years

 

Just turn up, sign in, pay the fee before you ride and remember to stick to the track!

The track has been freshly groomed ready for spring riding.

 

There are sheep around so please be mindful of this and if the sheep are nearby, do a couple of slow laps to allow the sheep to move from the track.

 

A friendly reminder of a few things:

Please sign in and pay at the honesty box BEFORE riding.

Respect the track and stick to the track only.

There are cameras and any person caught not signing in and paying will be issued a $100 fine as well as named and shamed on Facebook. Don't be that person!

Hey everyone, Dani here, one of the admins for Hairy Hills.

First of all, I would like to pass on a big thank you from Hairy for all of those who support the Hairy Hills MX track.

Hairy is very disappointed about the recent events at the track and this is not the first time there has been acts of vandalism. In February this year, the honesty box was stolen, including all of last summers takings, this has not been publicized until now due to the ongoing police investigation. This is why we have cameras operating throughout the premises.

Due to these events, Hairy has made the call to close the track down until further notice.

Now riding at Hairy Hills is only allowed by prior approval and with conditions.

As some of you know, Hairy runs a mechanical workshop/retail outlet McCreary Workshop, a business operating 2kms from Hairy Hills MX Track, we specialize in motorcycles, automotive, marine and agriculture, including WOFs.

All new and existing Hairy Hills riders, if you can come support us at the workshop, be it by getting a service, parts, tyres, repairs or buying accessories, Hairy is happy for you to continue riding at the track on prior approval. If you are a new rider and would like to ride at Hairy Hills, give Hairy a call to see how he can help.

HAIRY HILLS WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Due to a bunch of idiots that have been up there today who have ripped up all the minis track and surrounding grass areas on their 450cc bikes, as well as where the sheep are lambing.

These people also ripped up the driveway and car park area, they hardly road on the mx track where they were supposed to be riding!
